Beckman Coulter, Inc.
FER reagent, when used in conjunction with the IMMAGE® Immunochemistry Systems and Ferritin Calibrator, is intended for the quantitative determination of Ferritin (FER) in human serum by turbidimetric immunoassay. CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE Ferritin is the main iron storage protein in the body. The concentration of ferritin in the serum is directly proportional to the total iron stores in the body.1,2,3,4,5,6 Measurement of ferritin may aid in the diagnosis of anemia and hemochromatosis (iron overload). Ferritin levels 10 ng/mL usually indicate iron deficiency anemia.7 METHODOLOGY The IMMAGE® I
