Leica Microsystems has launched the Leica RM2265, a state-of-the-art high-performance microtome, designed primarily for customers in industry and biomedical research. The world-wide market launch of the new instrument took place in May 2004. At the same time, production of the predecessor model Leica RM2165 ceased. During the past 12 months, Leica Microsystems Nussloch GmbH has completely reworked the well established Leica RM2165 rotary microtome.
